Low EMF

EMFs (electric and magnetic fields) are areas of energy surrounding electrical devices. EMF exposure affects babies by impacting sleep cycles, brain development and their immune system.

Made In USA

Baby products that are made in the USA are held to the highest production standards.

There's one room where the door clicks shut and a little person breathes the same air for twelve hours straight. Meet the research-backed air purifier for exactly that.

The Austin Air Bedroom Air Purifier is the HealthMate, plus one thing.

Everything the standard HealthMate gives you is here: two pre-filters, a carbon-and-mineral layer, and 60 square feet of HEPA. Then the Austin Air Bedroom Air Purifier adds a fifth stage the HealthMate doesn't have - the HEGA carbon cloth, woven carbon fabric the British Armed Forces developed in the 1970s to defend against chemical agents, still used in military masks today

In a sealed bedroom, that extra layer earns its keep. Furniture, mattresses, paint, and flooring quietly off-gas VOCs and formaldehyde all night, right where your child is breathing, with no open window to carry it off. HEGA is the broad-spectrum gas grabber, built to pull a wide range of chemicals, gases, and VOCs out of the air. So the machine catches more of that overnight load, chemical fumes and any drifting smoke included.

Bedroom Machine or HealthMate Plus?

This is the one that trips people up: these two aren't better-or-worse; they're aimed at different problems. Both start from the same HealthMate, and each adds carbon in a different way. The Plus goes deep: its chemically-treated carbon is tuned to catch specific tough chemicals plain carbon barely touches, formaldehyde most of all, along with the reactive stuff in wildfire smoke and city smog. The Bedroom goes wide: its HEGA cloth isn't aimed at any one chemical, it just adds a broad extra sweep across the everyday gases and odors in a room. So a known chemical problem points to the Plus: a new build, fresh paint, smoke season. A general, no-single-culprit gas-and-odor load points to the Bedroom. Want both? That's the Immunity Machine {link}.

The research

Johns Hopkins studied homes with gas stoves that ran two Bedroom Machines and watched nitrogen dioxide drop 23% in the bedroom and 27% in the kitchen within a week. Range hoods alone didn't budge it.

Living with it

The best part? This unit is plug and play. One filter lasts five years, so you buy it once, plug it in, and you're done. There's no ozone or ionizer you have to constantly feed it. Austin Air has been making their purifiers the same honest way in Buffalo since 1990. (We even ran our own EMF meter over it before we'd carry it, because in the room where your baby sleeps, high EMFs are a line we won't cross!)
