How it works

Every HealthMate Air Purifier by Austin Air is built around a four-stage filter that's genuinely overbuilt, packed with more of what actually cleans your air than most purifiers come near. First come two pre-filters: one for large particles like dust, hair, and pet dander, and one for the medium stuff like mold spores and pollen. Next is the carbon-and-mineral layer that other manufacturers skimp on, soaking up the VOCs, gases, and chemical odors a HEPA filter can't, with a mineral half that's the secret weapon on ammonia (otherwise known as eau de diaper pail). Finally, HEPA catches 99.97% of particles down to 0.3 microns and 99% down to 0.1 microns, the smoke and ultrafine bits you can't see.

The best part? This unit is plug-and-play. One filter lasts five years, so you buy it once, plug it in, and you're done. And there's no ozone or ionizer you have to constantly feed it. Standard or Plus?

Full-size or Junior?

Match it to the room. The full-size HealthMate is the workhorse for your bigger, open spaces: a living room, a family room, the rooms where everyone gathers. It's 47 pounds of Buffalo steel with 15 pounds of media and 60 square feet of HEPA, and it comes standard with wheels. The Junior is the same machine built for one enclosed room, a nursery, a small bedroom, a home office, an apartment. Austin Air is clear that it's sized for those smaller rooms, not a stand-in for the full-size in a big open space. It's 21 pounds with 30 square feet of HEPA, and comes with wheels so it can roll from nursery to playroom when you need it in two places.
