      FAQs About Nuna Car Seats

Yes, the REVV maxx spins a full 360 degrees. The REVV maxx is Nuna's rotating convertible: you turn your child toward the door to buckle up, then rotate them to face the right way, all without unstrapping the seat, which saves your back on the daily in-and-out. It rear-faces from birth and forward-faces all the way to 65 pounds, so it grows with your child for years. Like every Nuna seat, it's flame-retardant free and GREENGUARD Gold certified.

Every Nuna seat has an expiration date stamped on it. You'll find it on the shell or the base. Lifespans vary by model, so read the stamp rather than assume; infant seats and convertibles don't run on the same clock. Car seats expire because their materials and the safety standards behind them change over years of use. To find the date and understand why it matters, see our guide on how long a car seat is good for.

Yes, every Nuna car seat is flame-retardant free. Each one is also GREENGUARD Gold certified, meaning it's independently tested for low chemical emissions, the gases behind that "new product" smell. Flame-retardant free means it's made without the flame-retardant chemicals most seats are treated with, which is exactly why we carry the whole Nuna line. Many Nuna seats add natural touches too, like merino wool and organic cotton in the newborn inserts. It's a genuinely clean lineup, top to bottom.

The PIPA infant seats do; convertibles stay in the car. A Nuna PIPA clicks straight onto Nuna strollers, and onto the UPPAbaby Vista and Cruz with the Nuna PIPA adapter (sold separately). The convertibles and rotating seats, the RAVA Next, EXEC next, and REVV maxx, install in the car with the belt or LATCH and aren't made to clip onto a stroller. If you want the seat and stroller as one purchase, we carry Nuna travel systems.

Nuna makes infant, convertible, rotating, and booster seats. The PIPA infant seats fit newborns and click onto a stroller; the RAVA Next and EXEC next convertibles grow from birth toward booster age (this reel shows some of the differences between the two); the REVV maxx add 360-degree rotation for easy loading; and the AACE and LUMN boosters finish the ride. Newborn? Start with a PIPA. Want one seat for years? Choose a convertible.
