Nuna RAVA vs EXEC vs REVV: Which Convertible Car Seat Is Right for You?

Nuna RAVA vs EXEC vs REVV: Which Convertible Car Seat Is Right for You?

Choose the RAVA next for value, EXEC next for the longest use, REVV maxx for the easiest loading.

Nuna doesn’t compromise on safety or materials. You see that in all three of its convertibles: the RAVA next, EXEC next, and REVV maxx each grow with your child, share a no-rethread 5-point harness, ride on a steel-reinforced frame with Side Impact Protection, and are fire-retardant free, like everything we sell. They each offer very unique and distinctive features. The decision really comes down to three things: how long you want one seat to last, your daily loading routine, and your budget.

What's the difference between the RAVA next, EXEC next, and REVV maxx car seats?

(†3-across depends on your vehicle's width as much as the seat's; RAVA and the slim EXEC are realistic candidates in most mid-sized vehicles, the wider REVV is not.)

The two differences that actually change the decision: only the EXEC next can convert into a booster, meaning it’s the only car seat you’ll need to invest in, and only the REVV maxx rotates. Everything else is shared Nuna DNA.

Which Nuna convertible car seat lasts the longest?

The EXEC next, and it isn't close. It's a true all-in-one: the harness tucks away inside the shell and the seat converts to a belt-positioning booster rated to 110 pounds. One thing on how we think about that, because it matters: keep your child rear-facing to the seat's limit, then harnessed for as long as the 5-point harness lasts. The booster with seat belt is the last stage, the fallback for when the harness is genuinely outgrown, not a milestone to rush toward. That's the whole appeal: one seat carries your child through every stage. The RAVA next and REVV maxx are convertibles, not all-in-ones, so they take you through the harness years and then hand off to a separate booster.

Which Nuna convertible car seat is easiest to load every day?

The REVV maxx. Its seat spins a full 360 degrees with one hand, so you can turn it toward the open door, buckle your child at your own height instead of hunched over, then rotate them back to ride facing the correct way. Parents who are constantly leaning into the back seat, especially with more than one kid, tend to fall hard for it. It's also a lifesaver in the third row, where a rear-facing child is otherwise almost impossible to buckle without climbing in after them. We'll be honest, though: it's the priciest of the three, and the rotation is the reason. If you're not in and out of the car all day, you're paying for convenience you may not need, and the RAVA next gives you the same Nuna safety for less.

Which Nuna convertible car seat should you buy?

Pick the RAVA next for Nuna's core safety build at the friendliest price. Pick the EXEC next if you want one seat to carry you from newborn all the way through booster years. Pick the REVV maxx if you're in and out of the car all day and the rotation earns its premium, just not if space is tight or you need three across.
