Nuna's stroller lineup is easy to lose track of, so we're sorting it out for you, one article at a time. First up: the four everyday single strollers, each built to carry one kid through a normal day. None of them turns into a double or takes a rider board, so if a second child is on the way, that's a different article (and yes, we'll write it)!
These four Nuna strollers seem near-identical from across the room, and they're priced similarly, too, from $800 to $1,000. But they're all designed with a different family in mind. Here's which is which, and who each one is for.
What's the difference between the TRIV next, MIXX next, SWIV and DEMI icon strollers?
The TLDR? The Mixx next starts from birth. The TRIV next travels light. The SWIV turns on a dime. The DEMI icon carries the load on rough terrain.

*Nuna doesn't strip these down the same way before weighing. Most figures leave off the insert, canopy and armbar; the MIXX next's 28.3 lb leaves off only the armbar and insert, so it still includes the canopy. Weighed the same way, the MIXX next and DEMI icon are the two heavy ones, the TRIV next is far and away the lightest, and the SWIV sits in the middle at roughly 21 to 22 lb. (Nuna's own chart and the SWIV's product page can't agree whether that figure includes the canopy and armbar, so we're rounding.) Don't hold us to the last half-pound.
The first thing to ask: are you planning to stroll a baby less than about six months of age? If so, and you don't want to use a Nuna Pipa infant car seat or bassinet, the MIXX next is the only stroller that will work. It's rated for newborns because its seat can lie fully flat. The others don't. The TRIV next, the SWIV and the DEMI icon all require clicking in a PIPA infant seat or a Nuna bassinet.
After that, the decision is about what you value: the lightest lift, the tightest turns, or the biggest basket.
The TRIV next doesn't overthink it: it's the lightest and the cheapest. At 18.4 lb, it's the one you can swing into a trunk one-handed, it's the most affordable of the bunch. It skips the SWIV's spin-in-place wheels and the DEMI icon's cargo hold, so if you don't need either, that's weight off your arm and money in your pocket, without sacrificing the high quality and premium materials Nuna is famous for.
The SWIV sells on something you can't see in a photo: smooth-as-silk turning. Just squeeze the drift button and the whole thing glides sideways like a crab with somewhere to be. That three-point turn at the end of a narrow aisle becomes a thing of the past. Let go of the drift button and push forward a few feet, and the wheels re-seat in their locked position automatically.
The Demi icon is built to haul in style on varied terrain. Its basket holds 30 lb, enclosed and zippered at the top and the back, so the diaper bag at the bottom isn't an archaeological dig. Or so you can take your Cavapoo, Russian Blue or pet chicken along for the ride. (Okay, fine, Nuna doesn't say you can do that, but you know it's going to happen!) It's also the only one to include the Aire protect canopy, which drops a privacy drape and opens ventilation panels, so the sun (and curious eyes) stay off and baby stays cool. And its large, foam-filled tires and custom dual suspension, pitched for "sidewalks to park trails," are a luxe bonus. What it trades in return is size: the DEMI icon is the biggest of the four in every direction, open or folded.

All four seats face either way, toward you or toward the world, and all four fold with the seat still on the frame, so you're not wrestling it off one-handed in a parking lot. Every one takes a PIPA series infant car seat with the included ring adapter. And every one fits children up to 50 lb or 45 inches, whichever comes first.
The materials are a big reason we love Nuna. None of these strollers uses a flame retardant or PFAS "forever chemicals." All four also carry GREENGUARD Gold certification for low chemical emissions.
Which Nuna stroller works from birth?
Only the MIXX next (without add-ons).
The MIXX next has a true-flat recline, so a newborn can lie flat in the stroller seat on day one. The others require a PIPA car seat or a click-in bassinet for the first six months. That matters for two reasons. One, each stroller's ring adapter only fits Nuna's own PIPA line, so if you plan to skip an infant seat and go straight to a convertible car seat like the EXEC next, or you already own another brand's infant seat, the MIXX next is your only pick here. Two, if a PIPA isn't in your plan, the alternative is a bassinet at $500. Nuna clears these bassinets for overnight sleep on their stand, too, so you'll get more value out of them than just strolling. Still, that extra $500 isn't in everyone's budget. (And be careful to purchase the right one!)

Which Nuna stroller is lightest to lift, and which carries the most?
Lightest: TRIV next. Most cargo: MIXX next and DEMI icon.
The TRIV next is the featherweight at 18.4 lb, and it's not close. The two heavy ones are the MIXX next and the DEMI icon, both a shade under 30 lb, and you feel those pounds every time the stroller goes into a trunk. The SWIV sits in between at 21.8.
On cargo, the MIXX next posts the biggest number, a 33 lb open basket. The DEMI icon's 30 lb basket holds nearly as much and keeps it put: enclosed, adjustable, zippered so nothing bounces out at the curb. The TRIV next's 10 lb basket is the trade for its light weight. If a big, secure basket is the whole reason you're shopping, the DEMI icon is for you.
