Oeuf Nursery Furniture is now GREENGUARD Gold Certified

That’s why we are proud to announce that our partner Oeuf is now GREENGUARD certified! Children are more susceptible to pollutants than adults. Relative to their size, children actually breathe in greater volume of air than adults! Due to their developing bodies and height they breathe in the heavier airborne chemicals. Infants and young children breathe in through their mouths increasing the risk of pulmonary exposure to particulates and fibers; that would otherwise be filtered out through the nose. Also, children have a higher heart rate than adults, which allows substances to be absorbed into the blood permeating tissues faster.
Products that earn the GREENGUARD certification are required to meet strict criteria which consider safety factors for sensitive individuals such as children and the elderly. These precautions help to reduce indoor pollution, the risk of chemical exposure and aid in the creation of healthier indoor environments.
In order to received a GREENGUARD certification, products go through many tests and exposure modeling. These include simulating actual product use and measuring emission levels to calculate air concentrations to represent what a person will actually breathe.
