4th Of July Activities For The Entire Family

Fourth of July is a great time to get away from work and spend some quality time with the family. Our nation's independence is a time for celebration and what better way to do that than to teach your children some American history while doing a fun activity. The weather is beautiful and the summer is officially here, check out our list of Fourth of July activities for the entire family and celebrate!

Picnic in The Park

Picnics are a great way to get some fresh air and also be around your loved ones. Make the picnic festive by bringing some red, white, and blue food and even an independence day themed blanket. As you are enjoying your time in the sun be sure to give your children a history lesson on why this day is so important so they can grow up proud to be an American and knowledgeable about why this day is cause for merriment.

Red, White, and Blue Chalk

Chalk is a fun, creative, and pretty simple way to keep your little ones happy this independence day. Because it is not just another day, this Fourth of July give your children red, white, and blue chalk to play with. While you are drawing with them, encourage your young ones to draw our flag, an eagle, or even just hearts and stars to commemorate this special day.

Depending on where you live, setting off fireworks at home may not be an option. Luckily, no matter where you are located your town or a town nearby should be having some sort of fireworks show since it is undoubtedly an American tradition. Get the family together, dress in your best red, white, and blue outfit, pack a bag full of the necessities, and join the town in an amazing show sure to create long lasting memories for you and your kids.

Independence Day Parade

Use the local newspaper or internet to find a parade for everyone to venture out to. Other families, entertainment, and big balloons are just the beginning of what is in store at any parade. If there are no parades going on around where you live, it's a great idea to just have your own. Everyone can have an instrument like this play drum or tambourine to march around with. Dress your kids in fun outfits and go for a stroll around the backyard or even around the neighborhood. Sing patriotic songs and make up dance moves as you go. You can hold glitter wands as your family smiles and laughs in their own little parade.
Make this Fourth of July the best one yet by appreciating and celebrating our wonderful land of opportunity with your children. For even more ideas, you can check out this list of things to do on Memorial Day since they are both patriotic holidays. By sharing these activities with your family, you're creating everlasting memories and traditions that could be passed down to the next generation of American children.
